Methodology & research
How the self-checks are designed and scored.
Truth About You quizzes are structured reflection tools. They are research-informed where relevant, written in plain language, and designed to show patterns without turning those patterns into clinical labels.
Answer first
How should these quizzes be understood?
Truth About You quizzes are structured educational prompts. They use dimensions, answer scales, result bands, source context, and reviewer checks to make patterns easier to reflect on, but they do not diagnose, screen, treat, or assess crisis risk.
How quizzes are designed
Each self-check starts with a narrow reflection question: a pattern a person might already be wondering about, such as anxiety, burnout, boundaries, attachment behaviour, people pleasing, manipulation, or emotional intelligence.
Questions are grouped into practical dimensions. A dimension might describe a thought pattern, emotional response, behavioural habit, or relationship tendency. This keeps the result useful: instead of a single label, users see which parts of the pattern were strongest.
Research process
Where a topic has a recognised research background, the quiz context is informed by established ideas or instruments. Examples include GAD-7 anxiety screening research, burnout dimensions described by the World Health Organization, attachment theory, emotional intelligence models, personality trait research, and psychological testing guidance.
The site does not copy or replace clinical instruments. Research is used to shape topic boundaries, language, dimensions, and interpretation cautions. The final product remains an educational self-reflection tool.
The Editorial Policy andReviewer Policy explain how sources, claims, limitations, privacy statements, and paid-result promises are checked before publication.
Scoring overview
Answers use a small numeric scale. Each response adds to one or more dimensions, then the result is grouped into low, medium, or high bands. A stronger band means the pattern appeared more often in the answers, not that a permanent label applies to the person.
The paid result expands this into a dimension-by-dimension explanation, reflection prompts, and practical context. The result is designed to support thinking, not to make decisions for the user.
Scientific limitations
These quizzes are not clinical diagnoses, screening replacements, psychometric assessments, crisis tools, or professional evaluations. They do not measure every possible cause of a pattern, and they cannot account for full context, history, culture, health, trauma, or current risk.
If a result feels worrying, urgent, or connected to safety, health, abuse, self-harm, or major life decisions, speak with a qualified professional or local support service. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
